George’s at the Cove La Jolla Fourth of July

La Jolla Fourth of July

July 4th has all the ingredients for a great holiday: food, family, and fireworks! But every recipe needs that secret ingredient to make it truly stellar, and this year it’s La Jolla, California. La Jolla Fourth of July is going to be a blast, with tons of events you won’t want to miss, all set in the gorgeous city of La Jolla.

Fun Run

Start the day by working up a sweat at the 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run down at the Standley Recreation Center, which begins at 7:45am. Come on, you know you’re going to enjoy oodles of hot dogs, hamburgers, and other festival food all day, so go ahead and work up an appetite beforehand, not to mention burn off a few calories before digging in! It’s one of the best things you can do when celebrating a La Jolla Fourth of July.

Family Cruise

If you really want an unforgettable Independence Day, consider booking a cruise in the San Diego Bay close by. The “Rock the Boat July 4th Family Fireworks Cruise” is going to be an epic adventure for everyone in your party. You’ll board The Adventure, a large triple-decker yacht, with up to 350 other people. It can hold way more, but to keep the vibe exclusive and super chill, they’re limiting the participants (Yeah, that means it’s time to book now!). You’ll have full access to a buffet filled with traditional July 4th foods like potato salad, brisket, and mac and cheese, plus an open bar and dance floor to boogie to all the hits the DJs will be throwing down. You’ll be up close and personal with a perfect view of the annual Big Bay Boom Fireworks Show that starts at 9pm.

George’s at the Cove

Call ahead and make reservations now, because dinner at George’s at the Cove is already filling up for Independence Day. There’s nothing like looking out at the Pacific Ocean from the Ocean Terrace Bar at George’s, and then tucking in to their incredible six-course chef’s tasting menu at California Modern. Stay all night in one of the only late-night bars in La Jolla, their open-air bar Level2 on the middle level of George’s. You’ll be able to wine, dine, and watch fireworks in style right from George’s at the Cove!

Experience a La Jolla Fourth of July

La Jolla can make this your most Instagrammable Independence Day yet, with fun activities to keep you busy all day, and the nightlife events that will entertain you until it’s time to watch the fireworks show!
